Employment References

To ensure each employment episode is ready for assessment, please provide an employment reference for each relevant employer. This must be on the company letterhead, signed and dated by an authorised person from that company (digital signatures are preferred and must be verifiable).

All references must contain the following specific information from the employer.

  1. Employer name, address and logo
  2. Your name
  3. Date of letter
  4. Start and end date of employment in DD/MM/YYYY format (If your position is current, the reference should show the start date, and for the finish date, indicate 'CURRENT')
  5. Salary and Benefits (per your company’s guidelines)
  6. Employment basis (full-time, part-time or hourly and hours worked per week)
  7. Position/title (e.g. ‘Software Engineer’) and description of the role
  8. Location of Work
  9. Description of duties performed – this must confirm your duties conducted in the role.
  10. Contact details of the signatory

If you cannot obtain an employment reference or are self-employed, you will need to submit a Statutory Declaration or Affidavit.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Employment references that do not meet all the above requirements will not be assessed
  •  Employment references must be signed by your employer or a person authorised by your employer
  • The name, position and contact details of the person making the reference must be clearly indicated
  • Employment References with duties copied directly from Occupations and ANZSCO codes or from another reference will not be accepted
  • Experience can only be considered up until the submission date of your application – If dates or duties are unclear or open to interpretation, the work episode will be assessed as not suitable

PLEASE DO NOT upload employment contracts, offer letters, appointment letters or position descriptions as they are not assessable and may delay processing of your application.
