ACS NSW EPC Presents - Your Communication Toolkit
Mastering effective communication skills and practical techniques and evaluation
About this event
ACS NSW EPC Presents - Your Communication Toolkit: Speak clearly, listen actively, and understand deeply
Communication consistently tops industry reports as the #1 most in-demand business skill, with 70% of global employers identifying it as the most desirable skill for potential recruits.
The Australian workforce today is multicultural and multigenerational, and technology is disrupting traditional methods of communication and evolving new methods, while speeding up the pace… However, the fundamentals to effective communication have not really changed – clarity, conciseness, correctness, and consistency – and the key approach to practice, reflect, adjust, repeat, and learning by doing.
Industry expert Paul Wallbank (Media & Communications Manager at ACS, former Freelance Writer & Presenter for major Australia publishers) will kick-off the event sharing insights on communication methods and styles; best-practice top-tips and strategies; and facilitating discussion on Australian workplace culture before opening to guest Q&A.
Followed by three interactive workshops, facilitated by the NSW Emerging Professional Committee (EPC) and professional mentors, on;
- Active talking & listening
- Uncomfortable conversations
- Intention & impact
Whether you're early in your professional career or looking to sharpen your communication toolkit, this session is designed to leave you with the practical skills you can apply in the workplace.
