Are you an IT student, graduate or young professional? Register for the Young Professionals Half-Day Conference

Wednesday, 15 Feb 2017

On Friday 17 March, ACS Victoria will be holding a Young Professionals Half-Day conference, targeted towards but not limited to IT students currently completing their studies, graduates and young professionals.

The conference is the third of its kind in ACS Victoria, and will feature three workshops, each facilitated by a different industry professional and topic. Each session will allow participants to keep abreast with their professional development and provide further insight into what steps they can take to help build a successful career within IT.

Session 1: How to get interviews with Australian IT recruiters
This session, presented by Director and Head Career Coach at the Australian Careers and Employment Centre for International Students (ACECIS) – Naren Chellappah will teach you how to pass the tough screening tests you’ll face when applying for job through IT recruiters.

You’ll learn more about the 10 second resume scanning process - and how to pass the initial telephone screening test.

The session also covers how you should network with recruiters and win their trust and confidence so they put you forward to meet their clients who are hiring.

Naren Chellappah has 12+ years’ experience in management roles in the Australian corporate sector. He has worked at organisations such as Pacific Brands, Swinburne University of Technology, Monash University, the Salvation Army Employment Plus and Melbourne Business School (Melbourne University).

Throughout his career, Naren has worked closely with Deans, Professors and senior professional staff from the higher education sector as well as General Managers and C-Level executives in the private sector.
