Ever got stuck in a boring conversation? Or hung back on introducing yourself to strangers only to find you have an awkward silence shortly after meeting someone? Or not known what to say, how to relate or how to escape? Face-to-face networking can be fraught with danger - so can networking on social media!
Many professional and technical people feel awkward with small-talk and mingling at networking events. Yet it's crucial for their success in talking to clients, increasing business contacts and attending seminars, luncheons and conferences. Make sure you know what to do.
Discover how to chat and network with confidence and skill - even with strangers. Introduce yourself confidently, keep the conversation flowing, connect with people and exit with ease. And then stay in touch after the event and build a strong network of profitable contacts - easily.
This dynamic, practical workshop will have you learning the top networking strategies and conversation skills so that networking is a breeze. Unlike most other networking workshops this one is all about skills, and you practise them each step of the way until you have the skills you need.
You will receive significant networking tips, big and small, and these are presented throughout. Everyone is given the opportunity to try out each of the tips in real networking tasks. Be prepared for a lot of interactions, conversations and talking - just like a real networking event!
You will also be guided through practical, relevant exercises in introducing yourself to and exiting from people, in asking people questions, in breaking into groups, in talking about yourself, in choosing topics to talk about, and more.
This Workshop is ideal for someone who:
- Goes networking and feels awkward and shy.
- Holds back from introducing themselves to people.
- Gets stuck with people and doesn't know how to escape.
- Hates small-talk.
- Has to represent their firm or organisation at networking and social events.
- Attends conferences, seminars or other interactive forums.
- Throws away invitations to events for fear of making a fool of themselves.
- Wants their staff to learn a vital set of business skills whilst also getting to know each other. It makes an excellent team-building workshop. Get to know the people you work with.
