Business Systems Architecture and Design - Enterprise Architecture is in Need of an Update - Thursday 18 February

Wednesday, 10 Feb 2016

Enterprise architecture was established to optimise the business value of the portfolio of IT assets over their life. This objective remains, but the way IT assets are acquired, operated and retired has shifted significantly in recent years. In addition business needs and expectations of the pace of delivery and the adaptability of delivery have been raised to new levels despite the increases in complexity of solutions. Finally EA is still struggling to establish credible business architecture capabilities accepted by the entire enterprise.

At the recent Australasian Enterprise IT Conference held in Sydney in October 2015 discussions between enterprise architects from around the world showed a common experience of Enterprise Architecture increasingly being ignored or unable to respond in a timely manner. EA is in need of an update to meet its objectives.
