Digital Website Accessibility Course
3-day intensive course or single days– November 8-10, 2016
Learn about website accessibility in these hands-on workshops, including how to conduct a preliminary evaluation of your own website and how to create accessible and interactive documents and how to use a screen reader to evaluate your content.

Creating Accessible Documents
Day 3:
Morning: Creating Accessible Interactive Documents (advanced session)
Afternoon: Using a Screen Reader to Evaluate Content
Course Topics:
- Understanding accessibility
- Australian and International Standards
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0)
- Accessibility evaluation tools
- Recognising the difference between accessible and non-accessible websites
- Conducting a preliminary evaluation of your own website
- Evaluating the accessibility of documents and learning how to make an accessible interactive document
- Issues with PDF and how to maximize the accessibility of your PDF version

- In order to register for Day 3 on its own, participants must have taken the Web Key IT courses for the Day 1 and 2 previously. Day 2 and 3 courses may be taken without having taken Day 1 if participant is not involved with web content.
Courses include:
- All learning materials – handbooks and thumb drives with examples, manuals and handouts
- Lunch, morning and afternoon tea
- Disposable headphones for use with screen reader
