New SIG - Consulting & Contracting

With the decline of senior permanent roles we are entering the age of the "Portfolio Career". There is an increase in the number of contracting and consulting roles. How do you take advantage of this and prepare yourself for this change? We have initiated a new Special Interest Group aimed at helping and informing those members who are currently consulting or contracting, or considering consulting and contracting. This SIG plans to be more workshop orientated rather than presentations, where members help and advise each other in a collaborative setting. 

Some of the potential topics under consideration, but not limited to, include:

- What products and services does the ACS have for consultants and contractors?

- Contracting, consulting or interim, the future of the portfolio career

- Business structures for contracting or consulting

- Compliance and legal issues

- Marketing yourself

- Pricing your services

But this will be really up to you, our members, to decide what you want to hear about, discuss and help each other with. This SIG is expected to be interactive where you can share your experience with your peers to help each other.
