MEDIA RELEASE

Leon Strous recognised for services to ICT

Sydney, 13th September 2017; The ACS – the professional association for Australia’s digital sector – has congratulated former President of the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) Mr Leon Strous on his award of an Honorary Membership to IFIP. The award was conferred at the IFIP General Assembly being held in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

ACS President Anthony Wong spoke of the contribution made by Mr Strous to the profession.

“This honour is a wonderful recognition of the exceptional service undertaken by Leon. Not only does he hold the title of the longest serving President in the history of IFIP, but he has overseen an extraordinary series of professional programs.”

“Our profession is only able to grow when we are guided by leaders who can inspire others to follow in their footsteps. Leon Strous is, without a doubt, one of those leaders. He has served his profession for more than 2 decades and will no doubt continue to do so as we embrace the rapid nature of change in technology.”

“On behalf of all of our members, partners and indeed all ICT professionals in Australia, I extend my warmest congratulations to Leon.”
