About this event
Artificial intelligence is reshaping industries, but turning technological potential into practical capability remains a significant challenge.
This joint ACS and PMI event explores AI adoption and delivery across two very different sectors: space and corporate tourism.
Drawing on her experience across the Australian space ecosystem, government, defence and advanced technology policy, Dr Catherine Grace will examine how AI and disruptive technologies are influencing the future of space capability. She will explore the opportunities AI creates alongside key considerations around governance, security, integration and cross-sector collaboration.
Journey Beyond Executive General Manager – Technology, Madhumita Mazumdar, will provide an enterprise perspective, sharing practical lessons from delivering AI initiatives across a complex, multi-brand tourism business. Drawing on real-world projects, she will explore data readiness, system integration, change management, security and the challenge of moving from individual pilots to scalable enterprise capability.
Following the presentations, Catherine and Madhumita will join a cross-sector panel discussion exploring the similarities and differences in AI adoption across their respective industries, followed by audience Q&A.

Speakers
Madhu is the Executive General Manager of Technology at Journey Beyond, where she is driving digital transformation across their experiential tourism portfolio. She leads initiatives in AI, enterprise systems and cybersecurity, helping scale personalised guest experiences while strengthening governance and security. Madhu is passionate about making AI practical, responsible and deliverable at enterprise scale.
In this session, she'll share the AI initiatives Journey Beyond has delivered, what it actually took to deliver them, and the practical lessons project managers can apply to their own AI programs.
Catherine currently serves as Director, Civil Space Policy (Acting General Manager, National Space Capability) at the Australian Space Agency, where she leads strategic policy development and cross-government partnerships to advance Australia’s national space ecosystem. Previously, she was Director Space at the South Australian Space Industry Centre, driving sector strategy, industry development, and international collaborations.
Her work bridges public health, defence, and space, applying rigorous systems thinking to complex challenges that require cohesive policy, evidence-based decision-making, and multi-stakeholder coordination. A graduate of the International Space University, Catherine also holds postgraduate qualifications in research and defence, equipping her to translate scientific insight into actionable strategy in fast-moving global environments.
Catherine’s contributions to research, policy, and innovation have been recognised through national awards, frequent keynote and panel invitations at major international forums, and academic publications. As a multilingual speaker and educator, she is committed to advancing diversity in STEM, mentoring emerging leaders, and fostering inter-institutional collaboration that elevates scientific and strategic capacity across the Asia-Pacific region.

- Payment in full is required the time of booking in order for the registration to be valid.
- To avoid disappointment, ensure you pay for your booking(s) before the registration closing date. Anyone that has not received a confirmation email will not be on the event attendance list and therefore will not be admitted to the event.
- Online registration ends at the time stated on the event details page.
Cancellation and Refund
All cancellations must be processed through the website, a refund will only be considered if it is at least 3 working days prior to the event.

- ACS reserves the right to change the program at any time. Every effort will be made to ensure a program of equivalent standard and members are updated with changes.
- All dietary requirements are considered, however we cannot guarantee a 100% allergen free environment.
- ACS reserves the right to prohibit entry or eject any person from an ACS event based on behaviour deemed inappropriate by ACS staff, its agents and/or others working under its authority.
- Filming or streaming by attendees is not permitted. If an attendee is found to be doing so they will be asked to leave the event immediately and further action may be taken.
- Photography and/or filming may take place during this event, by accepting these terms you consent to this. Please let a member of ACS know if you do not want your picture taken.
COVID-19 Event Attendance Compliance
By registering to attend an ACS in person event you are agreeing to the below terms and conditions
- If an attendee is displaying flu or cold like symptoms in the days leading up to the event and therefore is not able to attend, ACS will refund the registration fee.
- If an attendee comes to an event and is displaying flu or cold like symptoms they will be asked to leave
- We ask all ACS members to respect the social distancing guidelines, if an attendee repeatedly disregards these guidelines, they may be asked to leave
- ACS reserves the right to cancel the event within 24 hours' notice if either the speaker or the event host has advised us that they are exhibiting flu or cold like symptoms
- All attendees must provide a valid phone number and email address to be contacted on if there is reason to notify about a possible COVID-19 exposure
