Concessional membership

As part of our mission to foster an innovative and inclusive tech community, ACS offers a range of concessions. In many cases, these concessions allow ACS members in changing circumstances to retain the normal benefits and services of full ACS membership.

Concessional membership

Are you eligible?

If you fall into any of the following categories, you are eligible for a concession on your annual ACS membership fee. Check the criteria below.

Retired

You have been a full financial fee-paying member of the ACS continuously for 2 years and have retired from all regular employment. This is a permanent concession. If you return to paid work, you must notify the ACS in writing so that your membership status can be changed. Normal benefits and services apply.

Not currently in employment

You have been a full financial fee-paying member of the ACS continuously for at least two years and are unable to work due to circumstances such as unemployment, disability, ill health or parental obligations. Normal benefits and services apply.

Continuing

You have been a full financial fee-paying member of the ACS continuously for at least two years and expect to be out of Australia for a period of more than 12 months. Your membership is effectively placed on hold. No benefits or services will be available.

Post graduate student

You have been a full financial fee-paying member of the ACS continuously for at least two years and and are undertaking full-time post graduate studies directly related to the tech industry at an Australian institution. Written evidence from the Institution confirming full-time status is required (e.g. a copy of enrolment confirmation). Student benefits and services apply.
