The Australian Computer Society (ACS) is inviting educators from across Australia to participate in the 2026 ACS Digital Technologies Education Survey.

This is ACS's third national survey exploring computing and digital technologies education in Australian schools, building on research published in 2021 and 2024. The survey seeks to better understand how digital education is being delivered, the opportunities and challenges facing educators, and the support needed to help students develop the knowledge and skills required in an increasingly digital world.

The survey builds on an initiative first championed by the ACS ICT Educators Committee, whose members recognised the need for stronger national evidence on computing and digital technologies education in Australian schools. Their leadership helped establish the first study in 2021, creating an important baseline for understanding the opportunities and challenges facing educators across Australia.

ACS has continued this research since then, building a longer-term view of trends, challenges and opportunities across the sector.

Why participate?

Educators have first-hand insight into what is happening in classrooms across Australia. By taking part, you will help build a national understanding of:

  • how computing and digital technologies education is being delivered across schools
  • teacher confidence, capability and professional learning needs
  • the impact of emerging technologies, including AI
  • access to resources and support
  • challenges and opportunities affecting digital education
  • changes and trends over time

Your contribution will help strengthen the evidence base used by ACS to support sector engagement, advocacy and future initiatives relating to digital education in Australia.

Who should participate?

We want to hear from educators involved in teaching, leading or supporting computing and digital technologies education in Australian schools. This includes:

  • Primary school teachers
  • Secondary school teachers
