Department of Home Affairs - New Opportunities

The Department of Home Affairs is seeking two new external members for its Audit Committee.

The roles, currently advertised on the AusTender website, requires individuals with extensive business experience within a senior operational/financial/legal/IT management or similar Audit Committee role in the public sector, whether as a senior public servant or through experience with public sector agencies.

Providing independent assurance to the Secretary and the departmental Executive, the Audit Committee oversees the Department's financial and performance reporting responsibilities, risk oversight and management, internal control and compliance framework along with its external accountability responsibilities.

The committee meets a minimum of four times a year and consists of an external Chair with internal and external members. The Committee relies on the expertise and knowledge of its external members to support its objectives.

Successful applicants will be initially appointed for three years. Details of the roles and the formal Request For Tender are available on AusTender with tenders closing at 2pm on 20 January 2020.
