The Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) underpins ICT Services procurement for the Australian Government and Defence in Canberra, but do you fully understand how or why?<br><br>How do you apply SFIA? How do you meet SFIA? How is SFIA going to be used going forward by APS and Defence?<br><br>Over the years, SFIA framework has been used by Australian government agencies, private enterprises and individuals for workforce planning, recruitment, deployment of staff, and labour hire activities. <br><br>Join us to build awareness of the SFIA framework and connect the dots between SFIA, Government and Defence procurement practices, and the APSC job roles matrix.<br><br>Do you know that there are around 200 APS Career Pathfinder roles across different job families mapping to the SFIA framework for ICT recruitment and procurement?<br><br>The session is designed to enhance awareness and understanding of the SFIA framework. Adam Flint

Adam Flint

Adam Flint, Director, Commercial Branch, Defence Digital Group (DDG) Defence
Adam Flint is the Director of ICT Commercial Services within the ICT Commercial Branch for Defence Digital Group, Defence. Adam and his team manage the ICT Provider Arrangement (ICTPA) and heads the Future Secure Gateways Strategy Program. He is known for his broad strategic impact, deep ICT contracting knowledge, and experience managing all scale of ICT providers.

Adams current role shapes ICT industry engagement pathways through an advanced marketplace. With over 300 current suppliers and spends upwards of $900M per annum the Defence ICT panel successfully brings together ready available suppliers with Government. Its success is not just annual turnover but breadth of diversity across the ICT sector engaged with Government and facilitation of best value for money outcomes being achieved.

Adam has broad experience in Commonwealth Commercial services having worked in the Department of Defence since 2008 where he has managed large scale ICT programs, National Vendor operations including Telstra, Fujitsu, HPE, Unisys, Verizon and Kinetic IT, Navy Fleet ICT Operations transition from Navy to CIOG in 2012, and leads ICT Panel Strategy adopting modern skills based categorisation methodology.

Adam has advanced knowledge of the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) having managed multiple ICT engagements built on SFIA adoption and most recently under the ICTPA.
Adam attended Deakin University where he studied Commerce and holds an Advanced Diploma in Government (Contracting and Procurement).

Lisa Syrek

Lisa Syrek is a Training and Development Leader with extensive experience working across a range industries including ICT, with small to large organisations including corporate and government organisations. Her work for ACS extends to support our members and partner organisations in the implementation of SFIA through Skills Profiling and bespoke professional development and career development opportunities. Lisa's expertise includes working with organisations to implement successful learning and development programs that align with the business plan of the organisation and the individuals professional development plan; assuring the programs are of the highest quality and are value for money by ensuring funding opportunities are sought if appropriate; client relationship and consulting services to stakeholders for learning and development support including Federal and State/Territory governments, Registered Training Organisations and other Professional Development providers. Lisa has extensive knowledge of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector including all nationally recognised qualifications. Her previous roles in assisting organisations to develop a learning and development culture within an organisation has seen me work and liaise with numerous businesses within the ACT including ACT Government Directorate’s; Federal Government; Private organisations and Industry associations. Lisa holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Certificate IV in Employment Services and is a SFIA Accredited Consultant.

Kristina Cvijanovic Carroll

Kristina is the Director Client Engagement for NTT Ltd and the current Vice Chair of the Canberra BEC. She has more than 20 years experience in the private and public sectors with a focus on IT governance and assurance, project, program and portfolio management and operational excellence. Prior to joining NTT Ltd., she was the leading technical implementation of the Epic Systems Electronic Medical Record which will help transform the ACT public health system and provide a single digital health record for consumers public healthcare services. She was also instrumental in the early implementation of Epic to support the ACT Governments COVID-19 response. She holds a number of certifications in ITIL, project and program management and qualifications in information technology and project management. Kristina is a born and bred Canberran who has lived both sides of the lake with her husband, two children and fur-child.

  • If an attendee is displaying flu or cold like symptoms in the days leading up to the event and therefore is not able to attend, ACS will refund the registration fee.
  • If an attendee comes to an event and is displaying flu or cold like symptoms they will be asked to leave
  • We ask all ACS members to respect the social distancing guidelines, if an attendee repeatedly disregards these guidelines, they may be asked to leave
  • ACS reserves the right to cancel the event within 24 hours' notice if either the speaker or the event host has advised us that they are exhibiting flu or cold like symptoms
  • All attendees must provide a valid phone number and email address to be contacted on if there is reason to notify about a possible COVID-19 exposure
