About this event

Please note: This interactive discussion is targeted at women with experience in the Australian technology workforce.

As reported in 2023's Australia’s Digital Pulse, approximately 29% of Australia’s technology professionals are women. While this figure is a slight increase on recent years, progress toward improving representation and equal participation of women in the workforce has been glacially slow.

Of the women currently employed in technology roles, many have experienced and continue to face barriers and career challenges. From those navigating their way in the early stages of their career, through to established professionals, they all seem to face the same barriers. Job progression, network building, imposter syndrome, and a lack of opportunities for them to innovate and secure well-paying roles being just a few of the key issues faced by women across the Australian technology landscape.

In an effort to help bridge the divide and support women in tech, ACS is eager to delve deeper into the wants and needs of women working in the sector. Through candid and open discussions, we’d like to gather broader and honest insights from women on their various pain points and understand how ACS might help solve them.

Facilitated by ACS’ Vice President of Communities, Jo Stewart-Rattray, we warmly welcome and encourage all professionals working in technology to attend and participate in the final (virtual) event in our series of conversation circles, so we can continue to work toward building an equitable and diverse Australian technology sector.
