This session will focus on innovative technology solutions that have the potential to impact everyday life. We will hear from an experienced technology entrepreneur who has created, directed and sold two award-winning SMEs.<br><br>Technology is changing every aspect of life today and that including commuting. Our cities are getting congested and travel expensive and time consuming. Innovations that improve this activity has great interest to the wider community. <br><br>Al Reid is the Managing Director of Cycle Port. CyclePort creates the world’s first universal charging stations for electric bikes - the fastest growing transport mode. CyclePort also gives cities control over dockless share bikes, like the O-bikes that are starting to choke Melbourne’s footpaths. CyclePorts plug and play ports instantly lock any bike fitted with our simple connector, safely charge electric bikes and allow any bike in the system to be shared. Ports connect rapidly to form stations of any size and with flexible layout. Stations are wirelessly linked to create universal bike sharing networks, including peer-to-peer sharing.<br><br>Al has created, directed and sold two award-winning SMEs. His passion for sustainability has guided him through a 25-year career ranging from science communication and environmental economics, to sustainable food production. Amit Bhandari (MD -ContinuousExcellence) will be the MC for evening.
