ACS invites you to attend the ACS Kickstart your career in ICT event where you will be inspired by industry professionals from different areas of ICT who will discuss their career journeys and offer insights on how to approach getting a job and what to expect when you first commence your career. The session will include time for Q&A where you will have the opportunity to ask the experienced panel your career questions.

Speakers
With a diverse background in IT, Dave has excelled in various roles, from IT Technician to Security Engineer and Security Architect. He has successfully undertaken critical projects encompassing firewall migration, IAM, security product design and deployment, and system security analysis. Furthermore, Dave's expertise extends beyond Network Security, encompassing DevSecOps, Data Security, Risk Assessment/Management, ISMS, security controls implementation/audit, and Cloud Computing. As a CISSP-certified individual, Dave has also made an impact as a Cybersecurity Content Creator and GRC Consultant. His commitment to creating secure environments and dedication to staying at the forefront of cybersecurity make Dave a truly exceptional professional.
Alysse is a Senior Consultant in the Technology Consulting team at Protiviti. She is a tech-savvy consultant who embarked on her journey as a Commerce graduate (who majoring in Information Systems and HR), and has since become a seasoned professional with three years of experience. She is your go-to expert for helping businesses navigate the digital landscape, making technology work its magic for companies across the commercial landscape. When not strategizing for clients, you can catch her sipping on tea and concocting innovative solutions.
Ben Tran, is a tech-savvy senior consultant who began his career as a graduate and now boasts two years of experience in the technology consulting world. He’s your trusty guide through the maze of technology, helping companies thrive in the digital age. When he’s not advising on tech risk, you'll find him sipping coffee and brainstorming the next big tech breakthrough.
Val is currently a Software Engineer at Bukalapak where she works in the Core Services team. Val joined Bukalapak as a Graduate Software Engineer in 2022 after graduating from a Bachelor of Computer Science, specialising in Advanced Computer science and majoring in Computer Networks and Security at Monash University. In her spare time, she enjoys cafe hopping to try out new coffee shops around Melbourne.
Emily Chin currently works as Customer Success Manager Architect specialised in Automation and Data in IBM. She is a dynamic and accomplished professional known for her expertise in the fields of technology, innovation, and business. She holds a Double bachelor’s degree in information systems and IT (Honours), which has equipped her with a deep understanding of the digital landscape. Her academic journey led her to explore the intersection of blockchain technology and sustainable supply chain management, reflecting her commitment to sustainability and cutting-edge solutions. Before her graduation, Emily's career took a fascinating turn as she joined a research startup lab, Deakin LaunchPad. In this role, she managed a wide range of industrial projects, ranging from small businesses to large-scale endeavours funded by the state government. Her exceptional project management skills and financial acumen allowed her to take on the position of Operations Manager in her final year of studies, overseeing the lab's finances and ensuring its efficient operation.

Registration
- Payment in full is required the time of booking in order for the registration to be valid.
- To avoid disappointment, ensure you pay for your booking(s) before the registration closing date. Anyone that has not received a confirmation email will not be on the event attendance list and therefore will not be admitted to the event.
- Online registration ends at the time stated on the event registration page.
Cancellation and Refund
All cancellations must be processed through the website, a refund will only be considered if it is at least 3 working days prior to the event.
Disclaimer
- ACS reserves the right to change the program at any time. Every effort will be made to ensure a program of equivalent standard and members are updated with changes.
- All dietary requirements are considered, however we cannot guarantee a 100% allergen free environment.
- ACS reserves the right to prohibit entry or eject any person from an ACS event based on behaviour deemed inappropriate by ACS staff, its agents and/or others working under its authority.
- Filming or streaming by attendees is not permitted. If an attendee is found to be doing so they will be asked to leave the event immediately and further action may be taken.
- Photography and/or filming may take place during this event, by accepting these terms you consent to this. Please let a member of ACS know if you do not want your picture taken.
COVID-19 Event Attendance Compliance
By registering to attend an ACS in person event you are agreeing to the below terms and conditions
- If an attendee is displaying flu or cold like symptoms in the days leading up to the event and therefore is not able to attend, ACS will refund the registration fee.
- If an attendee comes to an event and is displaying flu or cold like symptoms they will be asked to leave
- We ask all ACS members to respect the social distancing guidelines, if an attendee repeatedly disregards these guidelines, they may be asked to leave
- ACS reserves the right to cancel the event within 24 hours' notice if either the speaker or the event host has advised us that they are exhibiting flu or cold like symptoms
- All attendees must provide a valid phone number and email address to be contacted on if there is reason to notify about a possible COVID-19 exposure

By registering for this event, you are providing personal information to the Australian Computer Society. In accordance with the ACS Privacy Policy, ACS collects personal information through registrations and attendances at its events for the purposes of:
