Some of the key challenges include:  <ul><li><strong>Cybersecurity</strong>: more and more data and systems become digitized, the risk of cyberattacks increases. This requires a robust cybersecurity framework that can protect critical infrastructure, personal information, and national security. </li><li><strong>Data Privacy</strong>:  With the increasing digitization of data, there is a growing concern about data privacy. This requires a comprehensive framework that can protect personal information, ensure privacy rights are respected, and provide transparency and accountability. </li><li><strong>Digital Divide</strong>: As digital technologies become more pervasive, there is a risk of exacerbating the digital divide between developed and developing countries. This requires a concerted effort to ensure that everyone has access to the necessary infrastructure, skills, and resources to participate in the digital economy. </li><li><strong>Ethical Considerations</strong>: With the increasing use of AI and other emerging technologies, there are ethical considerations that need to be taken into account. This includes issues such as bias, accountability, and transparency. </li><li><strong>Professionalism in IT</strong>: As the digital economy grows, there is a need for a strong and well-regulated IT profession. This requires a framework that can ensure that IT professionals have the necessary skills, knowledge, and ethical standards to operate in a rapidly changing digital environment. </li></ul> During this session we will be joined by board members form the International Federation of Information Processing (IFIP) as we discuss the challenges of global governance and professionalism in IT, and the coordinated effort required from governments, the private sector, and civil society to ensure that digital transformation is inclusive, sustainable, and ethical. <br><br><br><strong>IMPORTANT INFORMATION:</strong><br>Lobby opens (virtually) at 4:50pm for a 5:00pm sharp start. <br><br><br>

Anthony is the CEO of a multidisciplinary law and consulting firm and advises on IT Strategy, digital disruption and transformation, business and commercial law, intellectual property, privacy and data protection, cybersecurity, contracts and licensing, and the emerging policy and the challenges arising from 4.0 Industrial technologies . Anthony has over the course of his career, held senior management positions in multinational corporations and government. He has advised on and managed many of the business and technological challenges, legal, policy and compliance issues confronting business and government. As CIO for the Australian Tourist Commission he led the organization through the emerging era of digital information and transformation, utilising state-of-the-art technologies to develop and promote Australia as an international destination during the Sydney 2000 Olympics. During his time with Thomson, he led the digital transformation of Thomson in the Asia Pacific and created one of its first start-ups to grow its digital business offerings. He transformed the Thomson traditional business in the age of digital disruption.

Anatolii Marushchak

Anatolii Marushchak

Anatolii I. Marushchak is human rights researcher, an information/cyber law and security expert and a co-founder and strategic advisor at the International Information Academy, an NGO conducting research and providing information and training on cybersecurity and information law in Ukraine. In addition, Anatolii used to work on the leadership positions since 2008 and nowadays proceed as a professor at the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine, where he trained its staff and other members of law enforcement agencies. Anatolii authored more than 180 papers, books and theses on the subject. His briefs on information law and cyber security were used domestically by the National Security and Defense Council, the National Institute for Strategic Study, the National Academy of Legal Science, and the Security Service of Ukraine. Previously, he served as an expert for The Scientific and Methodological Commission of National Security of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and since 2019, he served as an ICT Infrastructure Specialist, ICT Adviser for the PRAVO-Police Project at the United Nations Office for Project Services. Since 2019, he has been a member of the Anti-Crisis Center for Cyber Protection of Business of Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, and since 2020 – an elected member of the Information and Cyber Security Council (educational sub-commission) of the State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine. Anatolii received his law degree, PhD and Doctor of Legal Science degrees from the National Academy of SSU in Ukraine.

COVID-19 Event Attendance Compliance

By registering to attend an ACS in person event you are agreeing to the below terms and conditions

  • If an attendee is displaying flu or cold like symptoms in the days leading up to the event and therefore is not able to attend, ACS will refund the registration fee.
  • If an attendee comes to an event and is displaying flu or cold like symptoms they will be asked to leave
  • We ask all ACS members to respect the social distancing guidelines, if an attendee repeatedly disregards these guidelines, they may be asked to leave
  • ACS reserves the right to cancel the event within 24 hours' notice if either the speaker or the event host has advised us that they are exhibiting flu or cold like symptoms
  • All attendees must provide a valid phone number and email address to be contacted on if there is reason to notify about a possible COVID-19 exposure
