Jobs in the Metaverse: 3D Scanning and Mixed Reality

The Metaverse is a public, shared, virtual space. In it, 3-dimensional digital content can appear lifelike and perform all sorts of functions. The Metaverse is used for games, meetings, concerts and all sorts of collaboration. Parents, students and teachers need to be aware of how the skills being learned in the classroom can be applied to existing and future jobs in the MetaVerse ecosystem.

About this event

Students have been creating digital content in classrooms for many years and this content creation is increasingly becoming 3-dimensional. With the use of a headset, students can walk amongst and interact with their 3D creations. New uses for 3D content are being unveiled regularly and NFTs are the latest form of value in the digital world.

At the ‘Jobs in the Metaverse’ careers event, parents and students will learn all about current and future roles that require skilled workers who can use and create with technologies such as Blockchain, Augmented and Virtual Realities, creative digital design, digital games, Cyber Security and software development.

Presenters include:
  1. Ken Lee, Founder at Austech Connect, Co-Founder of Playcasta (sports NFTs application)
  2. Kosala Aravinda, Head of IT at Lloyds Auctions and Blockstars (now auctioning NFTs)
