<div>The cybersecurity world witnessed major announcements and developments in the last few months:</div> <ul><li>Microsoft announcing that all Windows 11 computers will use FIDO/WebAuthn (Windows Hello) authentication as the default authentication scheme from day one:;</li><li>Apple announcing that they will use FIDO/WebAuthn (Passkey) across all their platforms: iPhones, iPads, Macs and MacBooks:; and</li><li>All current operating systems (Android 9 or greater, iOS 14, macOS 11 and Windows 10) and all current versions of browsers (Brave, Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari and Opera) supporting passwordless FIDO/WebAuthn authentication out-of-the-box.</li></ul> <div>At no previous time in the history of public-key cryptography has there been so much support for one of the strongest authentication protocols across all major platforms. Now all that is required to eliminate passwords off the internet is for web and mobile applications to enable FIDO/WebAuthn.<br><br>What does this mean for companies? How do they prepare for this massive transition? How do they get started? What are the issues they need to be aware of?<br><br>This webinar will discuss these questions and touch on some of the implementation issues around FIDO, and provide guidance. Having a basic understanding of FIDO will be helpful since this will not be an introduction to FIDO. Arshad Noor

Arshad Noor is the CTO of StrongKey, a Cupertino, California based company focused on the use of applied cryptography for data protection.

Arshad has been focused on the use of applied cryptography for data protection for 20 years. With 35 years in IT, 22 of them in the cybersecurity space, he has been designing, building and supporting PKIs since 1999, and FIDO since 2014.

He is responsible for having created the first open-source FIDO Certified FIDO Server to support U2F in 2015, and the first open-source FIDO Certified Server to support FIDO2/WebAuthn protocols (SourceForge and Github). He has been actively involved in the FIDO Alliance since 2014, and contributes to white papers (FIDO and PKI Integration in the Enterprise, How FIDO Standards meet PSD2's RTS Requirements on SCA and others).

He has written articles and spoken around the world (ISSA, ISACA, OWASP, RSA, Authenticate) on data protection. When not promoting the best cyber-hygiene available to protect data, he is promoting living a Blue Zones life.

  • ACS reserves the right to change the program at any time. Every effort will be made to ensure a program of equivalent standard and members are updated with changes.

  • ACS reserves the right to prohibit entry or eject any person from an ACS event based on behaviour deemed inappropriate by ACS staff, its agents and/or others working under its authority.
  • Filming or streaming by attendees is not permitted. If an attendee is found to be doing so they will be asked to leave the event immediately and further action may be taken.
  • Photography and/or filming may take place during this event, by accepting these terms you consent to this. Please let a member of ACS know if you do not want your picture taken.

COVID-19 Event Attendance Compliance

By registering to attend an ACS in person event you are agreeing to the below terms and conditions

  • If an attendee is displaying flu or cold like symptoms in the days leading up to the event and therefore is not able to attend, ACS will refund the registration fee.
  • If an attendee comes to an event and is displaying flu or cold like symptoms they will be asked to leave
  • We ask all ACS members to respect the social distancing guidelines, if an attendee repeatedly disregards these guidelines, they may be asked to leave
  • ACS reserves the right to cancel the event within 24 hours' notice if either the speaker or the event host has advised us that they are exhibiting flu or cold like symptoms
  • All attendees must provide a valid phone number and email address to be contacted on if there is reason to notify about a possible COVID-19 exposure
