About this event

Presented by Francois Botes, Managing Director, Peta Cloud, this seminar will provide an understanding of what Quantum Computing is and the technology elements that makes up this diverse disruptor offering.

In this session we will be discussing:
  • What is Quantum Compute;
  • Description of Quanta;
  • Description of Compute; and
  • How does Quantum Compute bring Super-positioning, Entanglement and Quantum Gates and Tunnelling.
Francois will step through the different kinds of Quantum Computers, including:
  • Noisy Intermediate-scale Quantum (NISQ);
  • Quantum Annealers (QA’s);
  • Quantum Simulators; and
  • Topological Qubits (TQ’s).
Francois will also explain the importance of Algorithms in an Algorithm Zoo, including Deutsch-Jozsa Problem, Shor’s Algorithms and Grover’s Search Algorithm.

Finally, the presentation will also explore getting started in Quantum Compute as a Service, including Quantum domains of expertise, skills and education required for a career in Quantum, and what’s next on the horizon for this ground breaking technology.

Please note 5:30pm registration for 6:00pm start. Light refreshments will be provided.
