ACS Tech and Employability Skills Half-Day Conference is targeted towards but not limited to students currently completing their studies, this special event will allow participants to keep abreast with their professional development through the facilitation of several sessions, highlighting ways in which student and graduates can stand out and succeed as a skilled professional.

<p>The event will consist of 4 sessions where our industry experts will share their insights on how to map out your professional career, what skills are required for a tech professional and what additional resources you can use to improve your employability. Attendees will also hear about what IT companies are looking for and how you can get ready for your next step and flourish throughout your career. <br><br>This event will allow you to receive 4 CPD hours if all 4 sessions are attended. You are still required to complete all event reports during the Professional Environments online course to document your participation and key learning outcomes for these professional development events.<br><br>ALL 4 SESSIONS MUST BE ATTENDED TO RECEIVE 4 CPD HOURS. <br><br><b>Session #1 How to Start and Boost Your Career by Thinking Bigger</b><br><br>This presentation will give you:</p> <ul><li>The 5Cs required to get your first job or your next job</li><li>The one trait all employers want… but won’t tell you</li><li>A simple method to help you overcome challenges as you build your career</li></ul> <p><b>Session #2 Build required, desired and transferable skills</b><br><br>Having the right skills and capabilities to adapt and grow in an ever shifting environment is critical if we are to not only survive but thrive. AJ Kulatunga is a Young Achiever, Professional Speaker and Unconventional Entrepreneur, who is passionate about sharing ideas that inspire positive change in the world.

Originally from Darwin, when he was 7 years old he started his own neighborhood newspaper, at 14 - a website development business, and at 23 AJ ran away from a bad boss to pursue his dream of starting his own ICT Consulting Firm – BLKMGK (Black Magic).

After growing the firm to 13 staff and securing big name clients like Microsoft, HP and Fujitsu, AJ decided to leverage his experience and pursue a bigger dream - to become a Global Professional Speaker. For his Entrepreneurial achievements AJ was named NT Young Achiever of the Year in 2008.

Today, AJ lives in Melbourne and when he’s not on stage he likes to tinker with his car, play guitar and research Artificial Intelligence for his next crazy project.
