About this event
Our Young Professionals Half-Day Conference includes three sessions hosted by accomplished industry professionals who share their expertise in what it takes to stand out as an emerging tech professional.
As the next generation of leaders in our industry, this event improves your interpersonal skills to network, undertake mentoring and get that dream job you've been looking for.
Session 1: A revolution in reality
Justin kicks off this session by exploring how new technology applied in unique ways to product development makes waves in industries. Eric's roots in Virtual Reality (VR) productions in games and film brings light to the "newness" of the VR industry. He shares his insight into how to build the skill set and develop sought-after qualities to break into VR production as a profession.
Session 2: The power of networking & the hidden job market
Diane is a career transition, leadership and networking coach, specialising in diversity and inclusion. She covers a variety of networking tips and tricks and explores how to leverage networking to land your dream job by tapping into with the hidden job market.
Session 3: Mentoring - Don't be the last "zebra"
In this talk Tim will present how he has navigated the start of his own journey and share how peer to peer learning helped his personal development. He will also make the case for why now it's more important than at any time in history to reinvigorate a personal commitment to never stop learning.

CPD Points
Members of the Professional Year program attending the half-day conference will account for all 6 CPD hours provided all three sessions are attended in full. CPD hours cannot be split per session i.e. if you only attend one or two sessions you cannot receive 2 or 4 CPD hours.
Prior to the event you will be sent an email confirming your registration, which will have a QR Code that looks like this:

It is your responsibility to ensure you are marked as attended by scanning your QR code with an ACS staff member. If you are unable to scan in with your code for any reason, you must still have your name marked off.
Speakers
Tim holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Systems Analysis. He is a Senior CP Member of the ACS and was awarded Best Consultancy by the Chamber of Commerce (in Bristol).
Tim has become involved in social impact entrepreneurship, helping develop technological solutions through mentoring and early stage business advisory with organisations like Remarkable. Remarkable supports inclusive tech start-ups to develop their business for the disability sector.
He supports the development of youth entrepreneurship through mentoring programs and numerous Hackathons, as well as developing technology solutions in other areas such as homelessness, domestic violence and mental health.
A high achieving, business professional with deep expertise in Diversity and Inclusion, HR Management and Talent Acquisition. Diane managed talent acquisition across a workforce in excess of 36,000 and has delivered HR management and consulting expertise for a global talent firm working with a wide range of blue-chip industries, in the private and public sectors.
Diane is passionate about helping individuals to build their networking skills to raise their visibility by utilising her advanced accreditation skills to facilitate and coach in the areas of Leadership Networking and Sales Call Reluctance through BSRP (Behavioural Sciences Research Press), Dallas, Texas.
Diane’s creative work has won numerous awards and she is Chairperson of NAWO NSW (National Association of Women in Operations); on the Executive Board of NEEOPA (EEO, Diversity & Inclusion specialists) and foundation member of Uni 2 Beyond - connecting students with intellectual disability to tertiary education & employment.

Registration
- Payment in full is required the time of booking in order for the registration to be valid.
- To avoid disappointment, ensure you pay for your booking(s) before the registration closing date. Anyone that has not received a confirmation email will not be on the event attendance list and therefore will not be admitted to the event.
- Online registration ends at the time stated on the event details page.
Cancellation and Refund
All cancellations must be processed through the website, a refund will only be considered if it is at least 3 working days prior to the event.
Disclaimer
- ACS reserves the right to change the program at any time. Every effort will be made to ensure a program of equivalent standard and members are updated with changes.
- All dietary requirements are considered, however we cannot guarantee a 100% allergen free environment.
- ACS reserves the right to prohibit entry or eject any person from an ACS event based on behaviour deemed inappropriate by ACS staff, its agents and/or others working under its authority.
- Filming or streaming by attendees is not permitted. If an attendee is found to be doing so they will be asked to leave the event immediately and further action may be taken.
- Photography and/or filming may take place during this event, by accepting these terms you consent to this. Please let a member of ACS know if you do not want your picture taken.
COVID-19 Event Attendance Compliance
By registering to attend an ACS in person event you are agreeing to the below terms and conditions
- If an attendee is displaying flu or cold like symptoms in the days leading up to the event and therefore is not able to attend, ACS will refund the registration fee.
- If an attendee comes to an event and is displaying flu or cold like symptoms they will be asked to leave
- We ask all ACS members to respect the social distancing guidelines, if an attendee repeatedly disregards these guidelines, they may be asked to leave
- ACS reserves the right to cancel the event within 24 hours' notice if either the speaker or the event host has advised us that they are exhibiting flu or cold like symptoms
- All attendees must provide a valid phone number and email address to be contacted on if there is reason to notify about a possible COVID-19 exposure
