Brendan Watson

Brendan Watson is Manager of Land and Infrastructure for Kilter Rural – a fund and asset management business based in Bendigo. Kilter Rural currently manages more than 10,000 hectares of rural landscapes and water assets across South Eastern Australia.

Through his role with Kilter Rural, Brendan has overseen the transformation of land under management. Works have to date included the installation of more than 4,000 hectares of new irrigation infrastructure, significant ecosystem protection works, new water supply channels and drainage systems; as well as new fencing and ancillary farm infrastructure.

To manage such a large landscape, Kilter Rural is at the forefront of agricultural technological innovation. They utilise cloud-based applications for irrigation control and fleet management, GPS for machine tracking and asset location, and satellite imagery to assist with agricultural decision making.  They have private telemetry systems providing coverage over all lands under management and can use these systems to operate their farms from almost anywhere on earth.

Innovation is something that is fundamental to the success of Kilter Rural. It delivers opportunity, sustainability and longevity to the business and will offer enormous opportunity in the years ahead.
