About this event

STEM_31 May 19
Australian Computer Society (ACS), KPMG and Women in Information and Communication (WIC) are collectively hosting a STEM event at St Clare’s College, Griffith for high school girls, enabling them to connect with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) mentors and build their understanding of the diversity of pathways to a STEM career.

The event aims to build their interest, which traditionally peaks then drops off around the ages of 13-15, caused by a range of reasons including unconscious bias, limited visibility and a weak first-line of support at home.

This event tackles the ‘You can’t be what you can’t see’ challenge.

Speakers include:

  • Elanor Huntington, ANU
  • Narelle Devine, DHS
  • Sarah Louise McDonald, PEGA Systems
  • Robyn Hall, CSIRO
  • Anant Vima, KPMG and ANU
