About this event

Young IT August

The “algorithm economy” is a term for the evolution of microservices and the functionality of algorithms to drive sophisticated application designs. The term is based on the utility of the algorithm in machine learning, artificial intelligence and other processes where software evolves beyond the limits of its original programming through the use of smart algorithm design. This event will provide an understanding of how algorithms are used in the Australian economy today and the important role of ICT in the development of this field.

Key topics covered will include:
  • What are algorithms and how they are the step before AI
  • How are algorithms evolving
  • The role of computer science in the rapidly changing field of ICT
There will also be a demonstration of algorithm for decision making on an oil field. The audience will also be able take part in a in a cloud-based consensus decision making exercise
