As the professional association for Australia’s ICT sector the ACS is committed to working with the federal opposition to help promote the digital economy and highlight opportunities to promote education that will help build our knowledge base. The federal opposition is committed to ensuring our best and brightest remain in Australia and the next generation have the resources they need to have a rewarding career in ICT. We are pleased to invite you to join us for drinks and canapes with the Hon Ed Husic MP, Shadow Minister for the Digital Economy, to hear about the importance of the technology sector to Australia’s economic and educational future.<br> <br>The federal opposition has an ambitious policy agenda in growing the ICT sector through positive education reforms that encourage all Australians from a young age to seek a career in ICT. Mr Husic has undertaken, since assuming the Shadow Ministry in October 2016, a positive and productive policy agenda in partnership with the ACS to promote the digital economy in Australia.<br> <br>Mr Ed Husic MP has been a member of federal Parliament since 2010, representing the Western Sydney seat of Chifley, and has served as Parliamentary Secretary to former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd. Prior to his parliamentary career Mr Husic worked for a number of key Ministers at a state and federal level as a senior adviser and has held numerous senior roles within the union movement.
