ACS Annual Report 2025

Australia's technology profession needs a strong voice, and 2024–25 was the year ACS rebuilt one.

Annual Report 2025 sets out how the Society performed across the financial year, covering finances, membership, advocacy, events, accreditation and migration services.

After a year of heavy strategic investment, the Society returned to a solid financial position while growing the earliest stages of its membership pipeline:

• net surplus of $4.1 million, a $10.8 million turnaround on the previous year

• student memberships up 83.6% and digital subscribers up 143.8%

• a record 73 high-level meetings with federal and state parliamentarians

The report is also frank about the pressures. Total membership fell 14.7%, largely due to a drop in complimentary members after system changes, and skills assessment volumes eased as post-COVID migration patterns normalised. Ongoing uncertainty in federal migration policy remains the biggest risk to the Society's income.

Alongside this, the year delivered the launch of mySFIA, a new Professional Standards Scheme, the first ACS accreditation in New Zealand, and hundreds of events run through our branches across the country.
