AIM Outstanding Leaders Series: Ethical Leadership

Monday, 10 Oct 2016

The Outstanding Leaders Series showcases pre-eminent leaders as they share the key learnings that have defined their career success. The series, which is hosted by the Australian Institute of Management, is an opportunity to hear first-hand from outstanding local and international leaders.

The next event in the series will feature Her Excellency Ms Unni Kløvstad Ambassador of Norway to Australia and Hannah Wandel AIMe CEO, Country to Canberra in a panel discussion on ‘Ethical Leadership’. Taking place on Thursday 10th November, the lunch event will be moderated by AIM Chief Executive David Pich, FAIM.

Unni Klovstad has served in the Norwegian Foreign Service for over two decades. Most recently, she held the position of Director, Head of Section for Security Policy and North America at the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she was responsible for NATO cooperation, UN peacekeeping, bilateral relations to the USA and Canada, as well as security sector reform and global security challenges.

Prior to 2009, as Minister Counsellor to the Norwegian Mission to the European Union in Brussels, Ms Kløvstad coordinated the mission’s work on the EU’s foreign and security policy, including security and defence policy.

Hannah Wandel is a social entrepreneur, a gender equality advocate, and the founder and CEO of Country to Canberra: a national not-for-profit organisation that empowers young rural women to reach their leadership potential. She’s a Social Policy Adviser at the Department of Prime Minister & Cabinet and was named one of Australia's '100 Women of Influence' by the Australian Financial Review/Westpac in 2015. The same year she won a Layne Beachley Aim for the Stars Scholarship, and was a 2016 NSW/ACT RIRDC Rural Women’s Award Finalist – the first-ever Canberran in the award’s 16-year history.

Hannah is a Board Director at YWCA Canberra, a World Economic Forum Global Shaper and is a UN Youth and Gender Equality Taskforce member.
