ACS Young IT WA Hosts Bright Sparks 2016

Last night ACS Young IT WA held the Annual Bright Sparks 2016 at Curtin University. The event was attended by a range of ICT students and professionals who witnessed three student project presentations on Mobile Applications as well as networking and meeting the minds behind those projects.

The evening was hosted by Dr. Ashley Aitken, Principal at Innovately and CEO and Co-Founder at HEDventures, and joined by an exceptional judging panel which included Dr. Bob Cross, Sheryl Frame, Claude De Lucia and Dr. Gillian Hatt.

Projects presented include:

Conserv-AR - A mixed-reality mobile game to promote awareness of wildlife conservation in Western Australia, by Murdoch University Students Luke Phipps, Michael Baker, Justin Pettit.

Global Surf Journal - A platform that will serve as an all-in-one online tool for every surfer. The app will allow the users to share surf related information in a dedicated and optimized format, by Murdoch University Student Cameron Flint.

Ascend Collective - An application which showcases students fashion apparel and talents. It is programmed for the Android operating system and is currently available for download on Google Play, by Alex Htike, Elizabeth Cunningham, Joshua Hidden, Matteo Campinoti, Samuel Hawley, Winston Badayos from South Metropolitan TAFE - Thornlie.
