A recent Computer Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) survey of 400 US Human Resources professionals found that 65% of employers use IT certifications to differentiate between equally qualified candidates for a given job role.
While Vendor certifications are often based on time-bound examinations or a test of specific knowledge areas, the ACS offers professional certification to demonstrate currency in ICT. ACS certification encompasses the knowledge, skills and attributes of an individual, assessing qualifications alongside work experience and communications skills.
ACS Certification is not a “tick a box” in gaining certification. Candidates are assessed not on how many knowledge based exams or qualifications they have completed, but on demonstrated on the job experience in working with a technology. This is how ACS Certified Professionals distinguish themselves above their peers.
ACS provides two levels of professional certification:
* Certified Technologist; aligned to SFIA level 3 skills, and
* Certified Professional; aligned to SFIA level 5 skills
On November 6th only, ACS are offering members the opportunity to be certified via an onsite assessment. Normally onsite assessments are reserved for large accounts but ACS WA are holding a special open day and providing assessment slots for interested candidates on a 1st come 1st served basis.
