Calling for history of ACS collection

Thursday, 08 Oct 2015

  • Did you do the Programmer-in-Training (PIT) course in Canberra during the 60s?
  • Were you a ten pound Pom brought to Canberra to set up computer installations during the same time?

Well, we would love to hear your stories.

As part of the 50th celebrations fo the ACS, we are putting together a history of computing in Canberra.  While we have a good formal account of who did, what, where and when, missing is the personal account.

The more you can tell us about how different the times were then compared to now and the special challenges that you had and bested the better.

Thanks to all for giving us the personal in the history. Please send what you have to ACS Canberra via email to
