UNIHACK 2015 - seeking an expert in Tech Talk

Friday, 07 Aug 2015

ACS Victoria is proud to be sponsoring UNIHACK 2015!  This year’s hackathon competition is designed for university ICT students and will feature 100 teams from all over Australia competing for the 2015 title and $3,000 in prize money.

Held over the weekend of the 15th and 16th of August, teams of students will compete over a 24 hour period to build a working prototype of a new idea they have had.  There is no restriction on what form it should take, programming languages or devices.  Teams may do research prior to UNIHACK but they are not permitted to bring anything with them.  They must create the entire prototype from scratch within the 24 hours from Saturday 2:00pm to Sunday 2:00pm.

Presentations and judging will take place from 2:30pm on Sunday the 15th with the winners being announced at 5:00pm on the day.

As Gold Sponsor, ACS has the opportunity to make a 30 minute technical presentation.

Would you like the opportunity to present your project, product or research at UNIHACK 2015?

Here are some ideas suggested by the UNIHACK team:

  • Introduction to User interface design and development
  • Introduction to web applications
  • Best Practices for mobile application development
  • Crash course in using jQuery
  • Mobile Apps

If you are interested in performing a technical talk on behalf of ACS at this year’s UNIHACK, please contact tarne.whelan@acs.org.au.
