Spatial information is nothing without the ideas and expertise to turn data into innovative, unique and valuable applications. With what many are calling the “geospatial revolution” on its way, those with the unique skills required to handle spatial data in new ways have the opportunity to take advantage of this burgeoning area.
There’s no better way to see this happen than through a hackfest. This is why organisations like HERE Maps, VicRoads, What3words, TomTom and Airbus are looking to award innovative ideas that turn their extensive data and resources into useful applications at this year’s GeoNext Hackfest
As a member of the Australian Computer Society, you are invited to enter Hackfest, network and share ideas, as well as win some amazing cash prizes (1st place $2500, 2nd place $1500, 3rd place $500).
Entries will open on 29 July 2015 and the winner will be announced at the GeoNext conference on 19 August in Melbourne, where finalists will be invited to present their solutions.
