Django Girls Sydney is holding a free programming workshop for women. An opportunity for women to dip their toes in to website development, learn how to program in python -- or just come to understand what it is that's going with all that typing and intimidating-looking black screens! It is much less scary than you think!
Programming is actually really fun: it's creative, productive and it's like being able to do magic! So we're trying to bust down that barrier and introduce more people who are generally currently under represented in tech to some of the tools and people and environments that tech people are part of.
It's much more about being able to think creatively, logically and having language skills than how much of a "nerd" you are.
Come and be introduced in a happy, female-friendly environment with some amazing people! It will take place on 11th of July at the Atlassian in Sydney.
Workshops are free of charge, but don’t wait too long to apply, as these workshops tend to be very popular!
If you personally identify as female and have a laptop - you can apply for a pass! You don’t need to know any technical stuff - workshops are for people who are new to programming. You can still apply if you don't identify as female, but the workshop is intended for women and will prioritise female attendance first.
We have limited space, so make sure to fill the form very carefully!
