GovHack is a national ‘hackathon’ style event. The idea of GovHack is to get coders together over a weekend to use this data to create apps, mash up and visualisations.
The event features a relaxed atmosphere with a strong focus on being creative and innovative using the government data to create solutions that have benefit for the community data.
Competitors can form teams during the event, bring your own team or work solo. It is also targeted at all ages from high school upwards.
A number of “bounties” will also be shown to the competitors on the opening night of the event. These bounties will be a challenge to the competitors. Each bounty will have specific prize money available. Apps can be submitted under multiple “bounty” categories to maximise prize money potential.
