REIMAGINATION Thought Leaders Summit 2015: Reshaping Australia to prosper in the digital future

Tuesday, 02 Jun 2015

Australia, 2 June 2015: Australia’s peak body for the ICT profession, the ACS, is poised to address the challenges facing Australian businesses as we move to an increasingly digital future by hosting the inaugural REIMAGINATION Thought Leaders Summit at The Star in Sydney on November 17, 2015.

Digital disruption is forecast to displace nearly half of all Australian jobs in the next 20 years. Recognising the significant disruption now occurring in the Australian economy driven by digital technologies, rapid growth in computing power and global online connectivity, the ACS in partnership with the Pearcey Foundation has identified a range of globally recognised experts from Australia and around the world to deliver their insights.

Sponsored by platinum partners Telstra and the University of Technology, Sydney, gold partner Australian Technical and Management College (ATMC), and event partners TAFE NSW - Northern Sydney Institute and Insurance House, the Reimagination summit will incorporate Australia 3.0 and will develop the conversation on reshaping Australia to prosper in the digital future. In a single event, attendees will hear global foresight and strategy experts share exclusive insights and experiences about navigating digital disruption, developing competitive advantage, and preparing for the jobs of the future.

The first international speaker to be announced is:

  • Tom Davenport speaking on “Beyond Automation: Adding Value to the Work of Very Smart Machines.” From the United States, Tom is a world-renowned thought leader and the President’s Distinguished Professor in Management and Information Technology at Babson College. He has sixteen best-selling business books and has been named one of 10 “Masters of the New Economy” by CIO Magazine and one of 25 “E-Business Gurus” by Darwin.

Domestic speakers include:

  • Peter Switzer as Master of Ceremonies. Peter hosts his own nightly business and finance program, SWITZER, on the Sky Business Channel and co-founded a publishing and financial services company called the Switzer Group.
  • Peter van Onselen as facilitator of an invitation-only CXO roundtable session. Dr Peter van Onselen is the Contributing Editor at The Australian newspaper and a host on the Sky channel. He hosts ‘Australian Agenda’ and 'PVO NewsDay' on SKY and has frequently appeared in the media as a political commentator, panellist, contributing editor, host and print journalist.

The full program will be announced through June. Visit for more information.
