Invitation to Fellows (active) and Senior Members of the Professional Division

Tuesday, 27 Jan 2015

The Australian Computer Society (ACS) in partnership with Charles Sturt University (CSU) is developing an interactive web resource to help ICT professionals deal with workplace ethical dilemmas when they arise, as part of an Australian Research Council (ARC) funded project, and needs your help with this. The resource will be available on the ACS website for its members, as well as for the wider ICT community. In-depth interviews with 43 ACS members, as part of the second phase of this project, have revealed that the most effective tools to include in this web resource are interactive case studies, a mentoring program and the opportunity to talk to a counsellor. The third phase of the project involves conducting Focus Group interviews with the aim of contributing to the contents of this web resource.

You are invited to participate in the Focus Group Interview due to your significant experience in the ICT profession and are aware of which problems ICT professionals commonly face in the workplace and which strategies are most effective in solving those problems.

The Interview will be led by Dr Oliver Burmeister, Chief Investigator, CSU and Chair, ACS Committee on Computer Ethics.   Limited to 6-8 participants. Please register your interest through Peter.Dunphy@acs.org.au by return.

Where: ACS National Office Boardroom, L11, 50 Carrington Street, Sydney

When:   Wednesday 25 February 12-2pm (light lunch included)
