Certification and SFIA

Sunday, 28 Sep 2014

Certification is your official recognition as an ICT professional. It provides the same recognition within industry afforded to other professional disciplines such as accounting, engineering and law, bringing you the rewards of global job opportunities and better remuneration. Certification also provides official recognition of your competencies to potential employers, rather than relying only on references.

The Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) is a common framework which allows an international understanding of what an ICT role actually involves and identifies the skills required. SFIA has been adopted by the ACS, as well as other professional societies and organisations. This provides a foundation for the professional grades, accreditation and programs of the ACS.

Future editions of ACS-TAS news will feature SFIA in detail. In the meantime, the introductory brochure can be accessed here.
