CSIRO Science in Schools

Thursday, 31 Jul 2014

CSIRO Education’s very successful Science and Mathematics in Schools Program has expanded in Tasmania to include a new element: ICT in Schools. A partner program, ICT in Schools provides an opportunity for teachers to form partnerships with ICT professionals, to bring real-world ICT to the classrooms.

The Tasmanian launch of the program was held on 24 June 2014 at the CSIRO Auditorium in Hobart. ACS State Manger Ray Leonard was joined by Professor Paulo de Souza from the CSIRO Computational Informatics and also Dr Carol King from the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre at UTAS, along with The Secret Lab, the UTAS School of Engineering & ICT (The HITLab) with presentations and planning on rolling out the program across the state.

Thanks to Jennifer Hemer from the CSIRO for organsing the function.
