The next ACSW event builds on the concept of superheroes.
It is completely different to past ACSW events and it will enhance the conversation on the diversity, strengths and value to the ICT industry.
Explored is the notion of superheroes and the creation of one’s own superhero character, as a tool towards understanding our talents for the workplace, this parallels the superhero metaphor, designed to interest young girls into ICT.
Don’t miss out and register HERE!
There is a lot of background research on the superhero concept, in line with the understanding of the need for role models. Discussion about diversity in the workplace supports this research.
The Tech Girls Movement is led by Dr Jenine Beekhuyzen. This is a non-profit organisation whose goal is to support the development of a more diverse IT workforce, ultimately resulting in better technology for society. This launch builds from role models and the opportunities afforded by technology careers in a refreshing way, through storytelling. You will also hear from the animator for the Superheroes characters, Dan Heck. To find out more about techgirls please go to www.techgirlsmovement.org/who-are-we/
There will be refreshments served, entertainment and a photobooth for you to build own superhero character.
