ACS Fellow appointed as Chair of NSW ICT Advisory Panel

Sydney, April 1, 2014: The Australian Computer Society is pleased to confirm the appointment of Mr. Anthony Wong FACS as Chairman of the NSW Government ICT Advisory Panel.

The appointment was confirmed by Cabinet on Monday March 31, and announced today by the Minster for Finance and Services The Honorable Andrew Constance MP.

The industry-based ICT Advisory Panel provides invaluable expertise from the business and research sectors.

The Panel advised the NSW Government on the NSW Government ICT Strategic Framework, the development of the NSW Government ICT Strategy 2012 and the ICT Strategy Implementation Update 2013-14. It will continue to advise on emerging trends in the industry and research sector, and ICT best practice.

Mr. Wong outlined his vision for the panel.

“The NSW Government has made substantive progress with one of the most comprehensive ICT strategy's in Australia. Chief amongst this is its proactive engagement with the community and industry. I am honoured to be able to contribute to this program and I look forward to working with the NSW Government and Industry on matters of local and international significance in ICT”

The new panel will gather for its first meeting in the coming weeks.
