February Branch Forum - IT Projects - the Successes and the Failures

Friday, 17 Jan 2014

IT Project successes don't rate much publicity, whereas the failures always get attention according to the size of their losses; Queensland Health comes to mind.

But the puzzle behind these projects remains a mystery - why do some succeed without even so much as a murmur whereas others fail so spectacularly?

Dr Stas Lukaitis looks at this maize through the lenses of PMBoK (et al), Corporate Governance of IT (ISO38500), the strategic business and IT alignment model and the impact of human behaviour.

What emerges is an apparent complex web of interrelated factors that can virtually assure (or not) the success of an IT (or other) project.

This presentation will set you thinking about the basics of IT project management as well as the more interesting impacts of human behaviour.
