The Australian Computer Society recently sponsored the 22nd Australasian Software Engineering Conference (ASWEC) held in Melbourne on 4-7 June 2013. As the peak software engineering conference in the region, ASWEC creates an opportunity for innovation and collaboration between software engineers, IT professionals and researchers.
Topics covered at ASWEC 2013 include all areas of software engineering, ranging from mobile computing to data analytics to development processes to the latest advances in DevOps. The event attracts a wide range of participants including software engineering researchers, practitioners and educators across Australia, its regional neighbours, and from other international locations.
Dr. Doug Grant, Professor Emeritus Swinburne University and Vice President Australian Computer Society, was ASWEC Co-General Chair and on the ASWEC Organising Committee. Craig Horne, Vice Chairman Australian Computer Society Victoria attended and enjoyed various sessions over the course of the conference. Karl Reed, Adjunct Associate Professor La Trobe University, was the Australian Computer Society representative on the Steering Committee and also Treasurer for ASWEC.
