On Thursday 9 May Vic ICT for Women hosted their Annual Gala Dinner in the stunning ballroom of The Windsor Hotel. The ACS ICT for Women in Victoria Special Interest Group sponsored a table at the dinner. Pre-dinner drinks for 45 minutes gave guests a great opportunity to network and increase their contacts in the IT industry. There was also plenty of networking time after the key note speaker presented.
With 137 guests there was a broad range of corporations represented including the sponsors Telstra, Cisco, Mind Recruitment, Lincom Solutions and PowerPays. The event was also attended by a number of ACS Board Members including Ian Dennis (Chairman), Jo Dalvean (Vice Chairman), Craig Horne (Vice Chairman), Michelle Beveridge (Secretary), Adrian Porteous (Board Member) as well as ICT for Women in Victoria SIG Convener, Rebecca Grant.
The keynote speaker, Susan Sly, Director Information Management & Technology, Vic Roads was inspiring and informative providing tips on what to consider in aiming for career and personal success. A summary of her advice will be available on the Vic ICT for Women website within the next 2 weeks.
In summary, a fun (yes there was a roving magician), informative and enjoyable evening.
