February Strategy & Architecture SIG

Wednesday, 20 Feb 2013

The ICT Strategy and Architecture SIG hosted another successful event on 12 February with Michael Mitchelmore presenting to about 60 members on ICT Strategy and Architecture experiences from the Dept of Human Services.

Michael is the General Manager of the Strategy, Architecture and Shared Services Division.  His interesting presentation covered a range of topics including the highly successful mobile applications that DHS has been developing, the challenges in balancing effective use of resources against the privacy requirement to maintain siloes of information from the agencies that were amalgamated to form DHS.  Michael spoke about the importance of the data model in enterprise architecture and the initiative that his division is embarking on to model the data holding of the department.

A survey of members indicated that the audience found the presentation particularly engaging and interesting.  The Strategy and Architecture SIG aims to host some more high-calibre speakers this year.
