The ACS Software Testing SIG kicked off 2013 with a detailed retrospective look at the state of software testing during 2012. Dr Kelvin Ross (ACS Fellow) and Dr Mark Pedersen presented the findings of the 2012 Ross Report, an industry bench mark report which takes a detailed look at the practices, processes and organisational characteristics.
The presentation focused on 4 key areas of testing: Test Automation, Early Error detection, Test environments and the changing role of the "Tester".
There was a strong turn out for the presentation with some 45 attendee's and a plethora of questions for both Dr Ross and Dr Pedersen during and at the conclusion of the presentation. It was great to see so many familiar faces as well as some fresh faces attending the SIG. Following on from the success of this first SIG we have several other exciting presenters lined up for the next SIG, stay tuned to see who's going to be presenting the next SIG.
