The purpose of the event is to bring together Academic researchers, consultants, entrepreneurs and interested consumers of IOT and OT/IT integration to network and hear about frameworks, apps and hardware available locally.<br><br><span>Operational Technology (OT) consists of both hardware and software systems that oversee and regulate physical equipment and processes. OT is often found in industries which manage crucial assets, for example, water, oil, gas and other energy-driven industries. OT is also an integral part of the automated manufacturing industries, as well as the pharmaceutical processing industries, mining industries and defence networks. It often forms the foundation of building control systems, traffic controls, shipping systems and works towards the management of distributed data storage and processing networks, such as cloud services.</span><br><br><span>On the other hand, Information Technology (IT), typically managed by CIOs and IT departments, is the application of computers to process, transmit and store data, usually in a business or enterprise environment. Previously, OT and IT have not coincided and were managed as separate organizational aspects.</span><br><br>IT/OT integration is the end state sought by organizations (most commonly, asset-intensive organizations) where instead of a separation of IT and OT as technology areas with different areas of authority and responsibility, there is integrated process and information flow.<br>
