You might have a degree or two, but they are fast becoming irrelevant as the fabric of IT undergoes a rapid change like we&#39;ve never seen before.<br><br>Robotics, AI &amp; Machine Learning, Brainwear, Many kinds of Drones, Sensor tech Cloud Computing, Fog, IoT, Virtual and Mixed Reality and more - all these are coming into mainstream IT as they need their own Security, Data and Analytics, Management and deployment. This doesn&#39;t even include the changes in classic IT such as Open Networking, NetDevOps, Elastic Fabrics, Terabit Networking, LPWANs and the list goes on.<br><br>These are all going to impact the IT role you do today. The problem is that most IT degrees do not include these areas - even today, and if they do, it is only a light touch as the technology is still evolving.<br><br>So what do you do? Give up? Change careers? Well, you can, but you don&#39;t have to. With an understanding of the landscape, who is doing what, where it is all going and the options you have available to you to keep up to date, there no reason that capable IT Professionals can&#39;t surf the coming wave and even come out on top.<br> </div> </div>

Skeeve Stevens

Skeeve is a futurist, entrepreneur, technology architect, consultant and visionary. He works in a number of areas, including futurism, network architecture and cloud infrastructure. He advices in future technology crime and critical infrastructure protection, virtual and augmented reality, the Internet of Things, NFC/RFID, personal/commercial and security robotics, smart cities, consumer behaviour and psychology, trend analysis and technology-based neuroscience like Brainwear.

He presently provides cyber security services to intelligence agencies, state police forces, the Defence Department and defence contractors, government ministers and their advisors in Australia and abroad. He is a former Director of the Internet Society and former chair of APNIC Policy Committee. He has also represented Australia in Internet governance issues and international policy.

Skeeve guest lectures on cyber security and cyber warfare, technology crime, infrastructure protection, first principles thinking, and inversion thinking at multiple academic institutions. He has spoken at events in over 20 countries and Internet governance and network operator events.

Shanti Korporaal is a futurist, virtual reality ambassador, women in tech advocate and entrepreneur—most of all, she lives for lightbulb moments.

Together with husband Skeeve, she runs eight businesses with offices in two countries, Australia and Cambodia. A great team, Skeeve is the visionary and ideas hand and Shanti is the practical tactical hand.

Skeeve and Shanti have recently opened the Future Faqtory in Sydney's CBD: a venue for teaching and researching advanced technologies, such as Brainwear, SuperHuman Performance, AI/MI + IoT, nootropics and biohacking and robotics.

  • ACS reserves the right to change the program at any time. Every effort will be made to ensure a program of equivalent standard and members are updated with changes.

  • ACS reserves the right to prohibit entry or eject any person from an ACS event based on behaviour deemed inappropriate by ACS staff, its agents and/or others working under its authority.
  • Filming or streaming by attendees is not permitted. If an attendee is found to be doing so they will be asked to leave the event immediately and further action may be taken.
  • Photography and/or filming may take place during this event, by accepting these terms you consent to this. Please let a member of ACS know if you do not want your picture taken.

COVID-19 Event Attendance Compliance

By registering to attend an ACS in person event you are agreeing to the below terms and conditions

  • If an attendee is displaying flu or cold like symptoms in the days leading up to the event and therefore is not able to attend, ACS will refund the registration fee.
  • If an attendee comes to an event and is displaying flu or cold like symptoms they will be asked to leave
  • We ask all ACS members to respect the social distancing guidelines, if an attendee repeatedly disregards these guidelines, they may be asked to leave
  • ACS reserves the right to cancel the event within 24 hours' notice if either the speaker or the event host has advised us that they are exhibiting flu or cold like symptoms
  • All attendees must provide a valid phone number and email address to be contacted on if there is reason to notify about a possible COVID-19 exposure
