<div>As the professional association for Australia’s ICT sector the ACS is committed to working with Government to help promote the digital economy and highlight opportunities across a range of sectors. The explosion in Fintech and the Startup sector have also helped evolve the digital economy and The Treasurer will also be taking questions around how the Government will help develop these sectors.<br> <br>Scott Morrison has been a member of Parliament since 2007 and has served as Treasurer of the Commonwealth since September 2015. Prior to his parliamentary career he worked as a CEO and senior executive in a range of industry bodies and government agencies including Tourism Australia and the Property Council of Australia. The Hon Scott Morrison MP

The Hon Scott Morrison MP

The Hon. Scott Morrison MP was sworn in as Treasurer on 21 September 2015 and serves on both the Expenditure Review Committee and National Security Committee of Cabinet.

Mr Morrison was first elected to the House of Representatives as the Federal Member for Cook, in southern Sydney in NSW in November 2007.

Immediately prior to becoming Treasurer, Mr Morrison was Minister for Social Services where he served on the Expenditure Review Committee of Cabinet and drove major budget reforms. This followed his role as Minister for Immigration and Border Protection  where he implemented the Government’s highly successful border protection policies and served on the National Security Committee of Cabinet.

In opposition Mr Morrison served in various portfolios including Immigration, Citizenship, Productivity, Population, Infrastructure, Housing and Local Government.

Prior to entering politics, Mr Morrison worked as a CEO and senior executive in various industry bodies and government agencies, including Managing Director of Tourism Australia, State Director of the Liberal Party in NSW and National Policy and Research Manager for the Property Council of Australia.

Minister Morrison holds an Honours degree in Applied Economic Geography from the University of NSW.

  • ACS reserves the right to prohibit entry or eject any person from an ACS event based on behaviour deemed inappropriate by ACS staff, its agents and/or others working under its authority.
  • Filming or streaming by attendees is not permitted. If an attendee is found to be doing so they will be asked to leave the event immediately and further action may be taken.
  • Photography and/or filming may take place during this event, by accepting these terms you consent to this. Please let a member of ACS know if you do not want your picture taken.

COVID-19 Event Attendance Compliance

By registering to attend an ACS in person event you are agreeing to the below terms and conditions

  • If an attendee is displaying flu or cold like symptoms in the days leading up to the event and therefore is not able to attend, ACS will refund the registration fee.
  • If an attendee comes to an event and is displaying flu or cold like symptoms they will be asked to leave
  • We ask all ACS members to respect the social distancing guidelines, if an attendee repeatedly disregards these guidelines, they may be asked to leave
  • ACS reserves the right to cancel the event within 24 hours' notice if either the speaker or the event host has advised us that they are exhibiting flu or cold like symptoms
  • All attendees must provide a valid phone number and email address to be contacted on if there is reason to notify about a possible COVID-19 exposure
