ACS Young IT WA Bright Sparks 2017

Using criteria based on the WAITTA Incite Awards students will be able to have their work critiqued by industry experts and given feedback that will be of real benefit for their future. <br><br>This event will allow the ICT industry to see how the new generation of ICT workers are going to progress our industry. Being a part of this will allow your company to be recognised as having an interest in our ICT future.  <br><br>The presentations will run for 90 minutes, with 15 minutes for each project. This will be followed by a networking session with refreshments to provide the opportunity to meet the presenters of the projects, and meet likeminded people who are interested in the future of ICT in WA. <br><br><b>Sneak Peek!</b><br><b>HiHuman a</b>ims to develop chatbot technology that is able to respond to user inputs to process customer related acquisitions for clients, along with additional capabilities such as incorporating multi-lingual, voice-to-text features and integration with Facebook and Twitter platforms.<br><br>The team at HiHuman has used industry-leading AI technology provided by IBM&#39;s machine learning platform to assemble the fully developed chatbot.<br><br><b>The CleftPALS WA App</b><br>The South Metro Tafe Higher Ed Software Development class built an app for the Not for Profit organisation CLEFTPALS WA. The Cleft Palate and Lip Society (CleftPALS) was established to provide support, reassurance, and knowledge to parents and their families of a child born with a cleft condition. This was the vision when the support group seed was planted. The seed has grown over the years with branches in most states around Australia.<br><br><b>The ACM Check App</b><br>ACM Check has been developed to aid the identification of asbestos-containing materials in Western Australian homes. It is intended that the use of the app will help to contribute towards preventing exposure to asbestos by increasing the user’s awareness of potentially dangerous products in and around their home. In addition, the app is being used as a data collection tool to help researchers map the presence and condition of asbestos-containing materials in WA housing. Previously, Matthew completed a Master of Public Health at Curtin University in 2014, and a Bachelor of Science (Exercise and Health) at The University of Western Australia in 2011. <p><b>The presentations will be judged</b> by industry professionals from across the profession. COVID-19 Event Attendance Compliance

By registering to attend an ACS in person event you are agreeing to the below terms and conditions

  • If an attendee is displaying flu or cold like symptoms in the days leading up to the event and therefore is not able to attend, ACS will refund the registration fee.
  • If an attendee comes to an event and is displaying flu or cold like symptoms they will be asked to leave
  • We ask all ACS members to respect the social distancing guidelines, if an attendee repeatedly disregards these guidelines, they may be asked to leave
  • ACS reserves the right to cancel the event within 24 hours' notice if either the speaker or the event host has advised us that they are exhibiting flu or cold like symptoms
  • All attendees must provide a valid phone number and email address to be contacted on if there is reason to notify about a possible COVID-19 exposure
